NEW YORK, Aug. 6, 2015 — Kannalife Sciences, Inc., a Phyto-Medical Company, announced the publication of its global WIPO/PCT Patent WO2015/106108A2 – ‘Novel Functionalized 1,3-Benzene Diols and Their Method of Use for the Treatment of Hepatic Encephalopathy’.
It is widely understood that hepatic encephalopathy (HE) and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) are associated with free radical mediated stress in neurons. Treatments that ameliorate this neural damage will demonstrate improvements in cognitive function, learning, and memory. Cannabidiol (CBD) has potential in treating oxidative stress but has limitations in terms of safety and pharmacokinetics, making the safe delivery of an efficacious dose problematic.
